Makers Circle Launches Retreat Program

Makers Circle, founded by photographer Susan Patrice, just launched it's 2018 retreat schedule.

Maker's Circle has individualized retreat programs designed to meet you right where you are in your creative process and can range from completely independent to fully facilitated. Retreats are non-competitive and open to artists at all levels.

Makers Circle was created in response to a lack of photography focused retreat and residencies. When Susan was looking to experiment with printing processes she could only find daily rental darkrooms and long wait times for residencies. So she built her own darkroom in Marshall, NC and decided to create a space large enough to share.

Makers Circle rolling application process allows for easy access, like a rental studio or darkroom, with offering the same care, support, and intentionality of a residency program. In 2018 all retreat and residency programs will be offered on a sliding scale. If you cannot afford the retreat rates, you can apply for a limited number of work-exchange positions

Check out www.makerscircle.org for more information on scheduling a retreat.
